MISSION
The mission of the Memphis Mass Band is to inspire a love of music and the performing arts in the local community, with a particular focus on providing high-quality music education to underserved and underrepresented young people in Memphis. The organization aims to deliver quality instruction, community service, and outreach to student musicians and professional musicians of all ages. Through its programs, the Memphis Mass Band seeks to promote important values like pride, attitude, discipline and leadership, while also making a positive impact on the community. The organization is committed to providing new and innovative learning opportunities that extend far beyond traditional arenas, with the goal of fostering the growth of the performing arts in Memphis and the surrounding areas.
WHAT DO WE OFFER
The Memphis Mass Band offers a comprehensive music education program that provides high-quality instruction to young people in the Memphis area. The program is open to student musicians and professional musicians of all ages and includes instruction in a variety of instruments , including brass, woodwinds, percussion, flag and dance. In addition to music education, the Memphis Mass Band also offers several performing ensembles for students to participate in, including a marching band, flag team, and dance team. Through its programs, the Memphis Mass Band aims to inspire a love of music and the performing arts in the local community. We believe that music education can be a powerful tool for positive community engagement and seeks to make a lasting impact on the lives of its participants.
